My journey with Andre started with 3 tiny kittens I was fostering, only 2-3 weeks old and very fragile. I lost 2 in a matter of days, but one of them survived and grew into a most unusual cat. After some research I found he was a Snowshoe X, however his kidneys deteriorated after his first birthday and I lost him in days. One of the vet nurses advised to get a pedigree as their constitution would be stronger - hence Andre from Skiboots Snowshoes, Melbourne. From the start his personality was different from other cats in my home, he is very strong willed and intelligent and unfortunately a wanderer, especially when young. Now 10 years old, he has mellowed considerably and until this recent incident, it had been years since he got into trouble. I already knew of Pet Finders as I have managed a cat minding service for many years and I find using this service gives great confidence about coverage to the public on one's missing pet. And I already knew that the early hours of the morning is the best time to walk the street talking softly to hopefully the missing pet - and this is certainly what brought Andre home last night. The support from my online community - both professionally and personally - was so heartwarming and bolstered my tired mind to get out the door and call again.
